Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the biggest mobile technology exhibition in the world. It took place in Barcelona this year, starting on the 25th by showing off some spectacular technology. Some really great smart phones were on display. 2013 is definitely the year of phablets but smart phones are not to be forgotten either. There was even a$20 Nokia 105! Here are some reviews on the smart phones that were presented in the MWC 2013.
The Taiwanese company, HTC, has proven themselves for making stellar smart phones the past few years. They are even attempting to take the crown from Samsung. The HTC One series phones are capable of capturing stunning photos because of their ultrapixel technology. The 4MP camera in the HTC One sounds little but it captures more pixels than normal mobile cameras and lets more lights in, so even low light photography is done very efficiently. However, the camera is not the only great part of HTC One. The new snappy design with the bigger 7 inch HD display with 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 800 quad core processor and internal memory of 32 or 64 GB makes this phone a lot better. And the beats audio enhancement is an added bonus on all HTC phones.

Asus PadFone Infinity
The good thing about the Asus PadFones is – you can turn them into tablets whenever you want. This new device from Asus is actually more like an update rather than a new product. However, there are still a lot of reasons to like this updated version of the phone. The previous phone had a plastic finish which has been replaced by a metal brushed aluminum finish. The PadFone Infinity comes with a 5 inch display and 1080p resolution with a 441 ppi pixel density. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 with clock time 1.7 GHz, and a 2GB RAM. The camera is 13 megapixels, and this phone can be easily put into a tablet dock to turn it into a 5 inch tablet.
LG Optimus G Pro
This one is a larger phone that comes with a 5.5 inch display; you may call it a ‘phablet’. This one also comes with a full HD display of 1080p and the pixel density is 400 ppi. It’s a better screen than the iPhone 5’s retina display. The Qualcomm chip, cool-ish camera, and the 3140 mAh battery keeps the phone awake for a long time.
NEC Medias W
Heard of dual SIM phones? have ever seen a dual screen smart phone? We were impressed to see it, too. The screen estate is of 5.6 inches but they individually are 4.3 inches. Thing is, there aren’t a lot of apps that utilized the dual screen arrangement so NEC provided some on their own. The configuration can make multi-tasking a pleasant experience.
Huawei Ascend P2
This phone seriously has the potentials to be the best, cheap smartphone of MWC 2013. Huawei seems to be very serious about smartphones these days and we can see the improvements in the transition period between Ascend P1 and P2. The phone comes with a 4.7 inch display of 720p. The 1.5GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM provides good performance and there’s a 13MP camera in the back and 2420 mAh prolongs the operating time.
