Jagtar Singh, a Scottish Sikh who is now detained in India, has penned a letter pleading for assistance to the newly elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss. Liz Truss was given a copy of the handwritten letter that had been written by Jagtar Singh by the human rights organization Reprieve. As a result of India’s allegations that Jagtar Singh was involved in a plot to commit murder and that he was a member of the Khalistan Movement, he has been held without charge in an Indian prison for almost five years.
